The Volunteer Bond
What is it?
Every member will be required to post a volunteer bond. It is your commitment to our club either in dollars or volunteer hours.
The adult leagues (mens / ladies) require a $50.00 cheque to be included with the curling registration fees. The cheque can be dated for March 31, 2011
If you complete 5 or more volunteer hours during the season, the cheque is returned to you with our thanks for keeping our club operating.
If you are unable to complete 5 volunteer hours, we will deposit your cheque with thanks for keeping our club financially sustainable.
The junior programs/leagues require a $50.00 / 5 hour bond per family.
The Friday night mixer requires a $20.00 / 2 hour bond per person.
Why has the Volunteer Bond been implemented?
Our club relies on volunteers to do the bulk of the work. The only paid employees we have are the ice technician and facility cleaner. Volunteers complete all other tasks in making a club work.
In the past years we have reviewed our volunteer group and determined that 20% of our club members are doing 80% of the work.
